2. Floss properly
Flossing reaches between the teeth where the toothbrush bristles couldn't easily reach and also helps in wiping away the bacteria formed around teeth, which can cause plaques and tooth decays.

So, floss properly by being consistent. Consistent flossing (either before or after brushing) will ensure that, formation of bacteria into decay and plaques is daily disrupted.
3. Never forget your tongue
Brush tongue properly. Food particles that remain overnight leave bacteria on the tongue, and can only be removed when it is brushed away. Don't brush your tongue too vigorously that you bleed. No!
Thoroughly brush the inner surfaces of your upper and lower teeth and then finish with the tongue for a cleaner breath.

4. Change toothbrush at least within every three to four months to keep gums fresh and healthy always

When brush bristles become flared up, it is time to change them. The reason is simple:
Flared brushes lose their effectiveness and will not do any good to your gums and teeth as a 'non-flared' brush will. So, make changing your brush within three to four months a practice for maximum effectiveness always.
